Vancouver, WA Think Fit Event

I have an event coming up this weekend.  I am pretty excited, so I ordered a little extra jewelry so I have enough for everybody to choose from and a good variety to see too!  Hoping to get it out there as I have had a few ladies interested in joining but nobody yet has chosen to join.  So I have recruited my sister to help my run my booth for the day.  As I learned at my last all day event that I cannot go all day without food, water, and a bathroom break or I end up with a massive headache the entire next day which defeats the fun of it.  Live and Learn!    Paparazzi Accessories with Karen Ray

And let the meltdowns begin!

So we have made it a few days in on the Whole30, we are doing it as a family and my kids are getting mad.  My goal is to do it for the 30 days of courses, but then also keep the colors and a few additives out of our regular diet afterwards.  I have researched the reaction to certain food colors and decided I want to give my kids the best chance, so for us they are now off limits!  Which is so hard because that stuff is in everything!  Even PICKLES!  So there have been a few "WHY NOTS" and even more TEARS but I am staying strong on my stand, people lived for years without all this extra junk and I don't think it will hurt my kids to go without a granola bar or a pack of fruit snacks.   Although I have a hard time explaining that to Grandma(my Mom).  And our next challenge is Easter is coming, luckily I am having it at my house so I can control most of it, but Grandma is in charge of the egg hunt and so I do have to let the kids binge on color/candy for a few hours.  So my take on that is that a few pieces of candy one day, is still better than feeding them that junk all the time.  Improvement not perfection should be my goal for the day.
So now I am researching meal ideas that fit within the guidelines.  The kids are getting pretty fed up of eggs for breakfast.  With the Whole30 plan it says look at them and meals instead of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner because it opens up more choices.  I do agree but trying to convince the kids that you can eat chicken or a hamburger patty for Meal#1 is more challenging than that sounds, you would think I had grown a third eye.    Suggestions welcome!   :)

And the results are in....

Went to Empower Me Pink Portland last night.  Well a girl that was supposed to ride down with me didn't show up and wouldn't answer her phone, so I headed to Portland by myself.  And then I got LOST, yep, so I was 20 minutes late.  :(   Showed up, snuck in, and started listening.  Surprisingly it didn't have much to do with Paparazzi so much as just motivational and inspirational.   Talked about the difference between opportunity and possibility, and yes I am still figuring all this out.  I believe there were many great things I can apply not only to my business but also to my life.
So yesterday was also my first day of my Whole30, and I made it!  Yes, I will admit I had a giant headache last night, not sure if it was due to the new way of eating or being lost in Portland by myself.  I will let you in on the fact that I have zero sense of direction and even with the help of GPS, I wasn't sure I would find my way there or BACK!

Empower Me Pink!

Paparazzi is coming to Portland for an Empower Me Pink tour.  This is my first experience with a direct sales company "convention" and I am hoping it is great since I have already signed up to go to Vegas in August for a three day convention.   I am taking with me a lady who is interested in Paparazzi and I am hoping after tonight she will be ready to sign up and get rolling.
I would love to have some help at the county fair I signed up to do, it is four FULL days and I would love some of my own teammates to share the event with.  Hopefully by August I have 2 or 3 I can work it with!  Hey a girl has to have goals!  :)   My goals and interest! Don't forget to hit LIKE!

I think this is my pre 30 life crisis!

Well not only have I began going to the chiropractor and oddly enough liking it, today I borrowed the book It Starts with Food.  And tomorrow I will start my Whole30 challenge!  I joined Weight Watchers at the beginning of the year but I just cant get in the mindset this go around.  I am hoping the Whole30 Challenge will be what I need to kick my sweets cravings and give me more energy.
Back to the chiropractor, I had my second adjustment today.  I was sore for two days after my first adjustment and wondering how I will feel when I wake up tomorrow.   I think she did a little more this time then the first and she worked on my "fat pad" too!

A New Experience

So at a recent event I was at with Paparazzi Accessories, I visited another booth with a local chiropractor.  Now anybody who knows me, know I do not like popping joints.  I don't like thinking about joints or bones at all!  Writing this is making my wrist and ankles tingle and my stomach turn.  Anyways moving on, long story short she was offering a wellness screening for a $25 donation to the preschool my son attends.  Sound fun, I was interested in how well I would do on a wellness screening.  I feel great, no real issues and thought why not.  So I went in for my scores today!  And I was right, I am healthy and in the "good" range.  But I did however find out that the "fat pad" on the back of my neck is not actually a "fat pad" like the doctor had told me.  Yes, that was a whole different issue, I went to the doctor years ago thinking my neck/spine was curving.  The doctor told me it was a fat pad due to being over weight and with great embarrassment I left the doctors office with the thought that I would forever look like a hunchback.  Well today I have hope that I will not forever have a "fat pad" on the back of my neck as the chiropractor said with some adjustments there should be improvement.  So with that I signed up and had my first adjustment today.  It was not nearly as bad as I had imagined! So me being me, I committed to go twice a week for 6 weeks to try it.  At the end of six weeks I will have another screening to see if there are any improvements in my overall health.  Watch out world, I will feel better than I ever have and look great with my beautiful accessories too ;)  Had to throw it out there!  http:/www.facebook.com/5dollarsparkle

Who doesn't love a great deal!

My sister is an instructor at a local beauty college.  I sell wonderful $5 accessories!  Light bulb, those two things go together wonderfully!  I have been going in on the first Thursday of every month and those women in there go crazy for Paparazzi Accessories.  Today makes for my fourth time setting up at the college, and I was a little leery this morning that maybe they will grow tired of it.  Boy, did they prove me wrong.  Had another great show at the college today!  Also have a girl from the college interested in more information on the business.  She is going to join me at the Empower Me Pink Tour. Also got contact info for a women who recently opened her own salon, we meet Monday!  I am on cloud 9.

Bursting with Excitement!

I could just scream, I am so excited I can't even think straight!  I will do my best on making this post readable and have somewhat of an order.  So tonight I tuned in to a Paparazzi webinar, and they announce their next convention!  August 19-21 in Vegas!  Now I have been to Vegas once before and did not feel I would ever want to go back, yes it was that exciting for me.   But for Paparazzi I will give Vegas one more chance.  I am beyond excited about what Paparazzi has to offer and cant wait to hear more and meet other consultants that have the same passion for Paparazzi Accessories.
Also in a moment of crazy excitement my sister called and asked me to sign up for a local 5k obstacle run.  I was feeling on top of the world with learned of convention and booking hotels and purchasing convention tickets, well I felt I could accomplish anything so I jumped over to that site and signed up, yes now that I am quickly regretting, I guess I will need to begin some sort of training.
Make sure you like my page, http://www.facebook.com/5dollarsparkle to stay up to date on all my current inventory, specials, events and excitement.  Thanks for any and all support, Karen

Wow, Have I been busy!

My weekends are filling up.  I have scheduled events for 3 of the 5 weeks in March already, plus starting to build with open house parties too.  And to top it off my sons wrestling season is coming to an end and baseball/softball will begin.  And all three of my kids are signed up, not sure what exactly I was thinking.   Luckily I have a pretty amazing husband who can see how excited I am about Paparazzi and is really stepping it up to help get the kids where they need to be and allow me the time I need to commit to my new adventure.  But with that, my first event in March is the same day as my 10 year old sons last wrestling match, the first one I will miss.
Also today got confirmation that I am able to do our local county fair.  That is very exciting yet scary at the same time.  As it is a four day commitment and I will be at my booth from 12 plus hours a few of those days, not to mention the amount of inventory I will need!
Which brings me to my last point, I will now embark on building a team!  I joined with the thought that I want to be "the" Paparazzi consultant of the area, but with the schedule I am building I can now see how nice it would be to build a team of Paparazzi Consultants who could network together.  Wish me luck!  Please and Thank you!

Getting Crafty :)

So many new things!  My inventory is always growing, with each new order we get a few extra pieces and our inventory has exploded!  So now I have made a few things to make displaying and traveling with my jewelry and accessories a little easier.  I have bought some stands that work great for the earrings and clips/pins but I didn't like how the necklaces display or travel with any thing so I made my own display.  Here is what you will need to make a display, I made two and and thinking a third will be  coming soon.
1- 10 ft   1/2" pvc pipe
2-   1/2" pvc 90* elbows
2- 1/2" T-joints
4- 1/2" caps
1 package 5/8" cup hooks, more than enough to make a few displays

I made mine about 2 ft tall and 2 ft long,  so I cut 3- 2 ft long sections and 4- 6 in long sections (legs) of pvc pipe.   And I say about because I measured by eye, and as you can see above they are slightly different.

Cut all your pieces, now to get the cup hooks along the top bar I used a nail and hammer to make starter holes before screwing in the cup hooks.

And then I also took an empty oatmeal container, covered it with scrap paper and it holds my headbands!

Check out my current inventory here
